Life Lately… in photos

I have a new favourite take-out coffee shop in Montreal. It's literally the size of a closet... under some random stairs, and the coffee is phenomenal (not to mention only 2$).

And those chocolatey morsels of heaven pictured above? They are the chocolate babkas from Cheskie's, the Jewish bakery around the corner from our apartment… and I cannot get enough of them.

Oy! We have been on a lot of planes lately… 4 trips in the last 10 days. I'm not going to lie, it has been rather exhausting. But this boy of mine, he has been a total champ.

We had some dear friends over for a delicious brunch this weekend. I made this cinnamon-sugar pull-apart bread, and although it was overly sweet (in my opinion), it certainly was delicious. And the boys drank beer and the girls drank lots of mimosas, and we thoroughly enjoyed watching our little kiddies all play together in the living room.

And this is what our life really looks like now...

And on Sunday morning we flew back up north, and somehow managed to pull together a Super Bowl spread in record time. I made a big batch of vegetarian chili, and friends brought over chips & salsa and chicken wings and football-shaped Super Bowl cookies :)

And now, it feels so nice to be back in the quiet solitude of the north. We need rest, and sleep, and time to recover from a wonderfully busy vacation. Funny how vacation can sometimes feel more tiring than routine daily life.
It's good to be home.
