Hello everyone!
So we're finally settling into our new life up north.
Wow, what a change! It's so different up here.
I'm still kind of in shock with my new reality - but it's definitely exciting, and I think it's going to be a great experience.
We live on Wichishkw Road- it's a Cree name and I have no clue how to pronounce it.... but I think I like it.
I hope you're all doing well.
We finally got our internet hooked up. It's frustratingly slow, but better than nothing.
I hope to have some time this weekend to catch up with you all.

ReplyDeleteThe bear! The stop sign! The flora, the fauna... The people!
I feel like there's so much to discover up there and I'm so glad I get to visit vicariously through you!
Hope you settle in nicely. Can't wait for more!

ReplyDeletereminds me of living in patagonia, just the other side's extreme... believe me, i feel you on the slow internet!!! take it slow, and don't open too many tabs at one time, take lots of coffee or tea breaks.
good luck getting settled!
Heather, thanks for the encouragement.
ReplyDeleteI can imagine how you must know what this feels like after your experiences!
We're here for work, and we will stay for at least one year... hopefully we really like it and will stay longer.... we'll see!

ReplyDeleteLiving on the shores of James Bay is awesome. The landscape is inspiring. When I lived in Moosonee one winter (which was almost 9 months long), it was those scrubby trees that started me drawing. They always reminded me of a bottle brush. Enjoy the work and the rugged landscape.
ReplyDeleteI pop by your blog every once and a while and always enjoy what I read.
Thanks
Yay! So excited for you. It looks beautiful there.
