This weekend was wonderful.
I slept in and had very lazy mornings...
with mugs of rich, dark coffee and homemade brown bread and butter.
(well actually it was 'bread-machine made' - but still super fresh!)
My little herbs have sprouted and soon I'll be able to transplant them outside on the balcony.
It was my uncle's 50th birthday party, which meant a big party with way more than 50 cupcakes!
It was bona fide dance party no less... complete with disco lights and a smoke machine.
My little cousins clearly loved it.
Who am I kidding, I totally loved it too!
We went out for breakfast the next morning at my favourite Montreal breakfast restaurant, L'Avenue.
It was sinfully delicious as usual!
And even though it rained all weekend, the city is looking so beautiful right now!
Another major weekend highlight was watching bits of this free online food photography workshop with Penny De Los Santos... it was awesome and so inspiring! Did any of you see it?

Happy Monday, everyone!

Ohhhh How I would love to brunch at L'Avenue, oh and the Mirror! *sigh* I still have yet to find a favourite breakfast joint here in Victoria.
Your uncles' birthday party looks like it was a blast!

ah poop! I wanted to watch that food photography workshop this weekend!!! But I totally forgot and just had way too much going on. I watched one a few weeks ago though. It was more about portraiture and photography lighting and the business aspect. It was amazing. Im so bummed i missed this one. Can't wait to see you use some techniques though when you post new recipes ;)
