We've spent the last few days in Toronto, and I have to say, it's a pretty awesome city! As a Montrealer I was raised with a certain reservation about Toronto... it's too big, too sprawled out, no charm. But that is completely wrong! Toronto has so much character, so many cool little neighbourhoods, and so much going on.
(That being said, Montreal still wins in the end, and will always have my heart! Once a Montrealer - always a Montrealer!)
Anyway, here are some fun little Toronto moments over the last few days in the big city
We went to this quirky little restaurant on Queen Street east called Ruby Watchco and totally fell in love. There was no menu... you were just served up delicious dishes at the chef's whim... kind of like going over to someone's house for dinner. Everything tasted incredible!
We're back in Montreal now and I'm looking forward to having some time to catch up on all your lovely blog posts I've missed.
I hope you have a love-filled weekend (it is Valentine's season after all!)

that last picture is WAY cool. I definitely want to go to montreal...i tried to get mark to apply to jobs there back when we were moving because I'm certain I will like it :)
ReplyDeleteWest coasters ( I grew up in Vancouver) love to put Toronto down....it's just part of the vibe. It is Canadian and we are a lovely culture and it is our largest city.....hope to one day explore it for myself
ReplyDeleteYay!!! Three cheers for Montreal!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good trip - beautiful photos! The meal at ruby watch co sounds like fun!
ReplyDeletetoronto sounds fun! your pics were great. i love montreal and try to get there once a year. i think it takes about 8 hours from new york. i haven't been to toronto since i was a teenager though.
ReplyDeleteMy husband was just in Toronto for a business trip and he liked it. I contemplated going with him but tickets were way too expensive. I long to visit Montreal more though and if I get the chance I'm totally asking you to plan my stay!
ReplyDeleteWhere do you arrange your photos before you post them?
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful time. Making me want to have lots of adventures too!! :)
ReplyDeleteRe: Just Sayin': right now I just use iPhoto to arrange/edit my photos before posting them. But for fancier things I hear Skitch is pretty good : )
ReplyDeleteI've never been to either - Toronto or Montreal (only Vancouver, 'cause I'm a West Coast person). I think your feelings about Montreal v. Toronto are probably similar to how I feel about my beloved San Francisco to the utter cool sophistication of New York :)
ReplyDeleteI love Mitzie's! If I ever was inclined to open a breakfast place I would model it after them!
