Sorry I've been MIA lately, but I've been beyond the reach of internet, in a tiny village called Tasiujaq, which is even further up north than I was last week (if you can imagine that!). The tiny Inuit village was GORGEOUS and I have so many beautiful photos to share with you..... but for now here are a few pictures I took of the incredible Northern Lights.
(these two Inuit teenage girls desperately wanted to pose for the picture, so they stood as still as statues for my 30-second exposure)
The aurora borealis was absolutely magnificent! Dreamy and hauntingly beautiful. I watched them dance across the icy night sky for hours.
Have you ever seen them?

We get northern lights in Alberta sometimes but nothing quite like this... AMAZING!!

Thanks for those amazing photos!!! Have never been lucky enough to see those beautiful lights, but feel as if I have now!
Wow! These are gorgeous photos! This should be on one my 99 memorable experience list. This is something I want to do before I'm no longer body, but just spirit.
Wow!! Your photos are incredible! I have never seen such a beautiful sky. I would love to see the northern lights in person someday. Enjoy the rest of your time up North!

That's so awesome! I always wanted to see the aurora borealis. When I first moved here, I thought I might be able to see the australis. We are SO far south. They call it the end of the world here. But, alas, we're not far enough south. You lucky girl, gettin' fabulous pictures from your adventures!
I've always wanted to see the northern lights. Your photos are so magical.
Fantastic photos! I'm so smitten with your blog :)

Awesome photo! Glad you're enjoying the bits of your adventure that you'll never see anywhere else! : ) p.s. We're all moved in!
Great Shots!!!
this is something I'd love to see... loved your photos and your post though.. Almost like being there...
These photos are absolutely beautiful. I took pictures of the northern lights in Alaska a few years ago, but they didn't come out as vibrant as yours! What's your trick?
Seeing them was one of the most magical moments of my life... and I think it's when I knew I had fallen in love with someone.
Hey,
thanks for commenting my artblog;-)
Greetings,

Mary,
I'm not sure if you used a tripod when you took your photos, but I think it's necessary. I used a 30 second exposure & a wide open aperture.
Oh and how lovely to fall in love under the aurora.... so romantic!

Wow, these pictures are insane. I can't believe how big/bright they are. What a perk to being in the middle of nowhere :)
Wow, if that isn't amazing, I do not know what else is!!!
